Macroeconomics and Public Policies

My name is Idoia Aguirre and I’m an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) at the Department of Economics. I received a BA in Economics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2012, a MSc in Economics from University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), I graduated with honors at the MSc in Economics: research focus at the Catholique University of Louvain (UCLouvain), and a PhD in Macroeconomics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), with a dissertation on monetary policies. I was a visiting PhD candidate at the Institute of Economic and Social Research (IRES) at the Catholique University of Louvain (2015-2016). My research has been published in economic journals such as the Journal of Macroeconomics and the International Review of Economics and Finance. My research interests are in the fields of macroeconomics, monetary policies, fiscal policies, sovereign debt and financial economics.
